My girlfriend's friend has come into a new vehicle and has offered to sell us her old 2006 Scion XA with 200k miles. She offered it to us for $1500. It's not the ideal purchase, but we only have one vehicle at the moment and a second would be superb while we save up for the Honda Civic we've been eyeing. I told my gf to make an offer of 1000 upfront or 1200 in payments. Neither of those or even the full 1500 asking price would hurt us financially, but I don't want to spend more than what the car is worth. That's why I'm here. I looked at NADAguides and the price seems fair according to the site, but I'd live an actual opinion. Also, I'd appreciate any info on the model and what sort of things I should be checking it out for during the test drive. Thank you very much for any help!
