For a bit of background, I'm 18, been driving my dad's 98' Audi A4 for the last two years. It was my sister's highschool driver until she got a full time job and got her own. Now I'm starting my first full time job on monday, and want to start looking for a car.
I'm fairly open, but I want something I can learn more about cars on. I don't know a whole lot about the iner workings of cars, but I want to tinker, modify, and learn more about them, so something fairly straightforward would be nice(can't really tinker on an Audi).
I'm thinking a golf/rabbit gti, or tdi. I like the speed of the gti and the economy of the tdi. And the area I'm in has a huge vw community.
I also like the idea of a Subaru, but I'm not as familiar about what is what when it comes to them.
I also love muscle cars, but they seem kind of pricey, and I'd like to get 15+ miles to the gallon. Ideally a lot of money would drop in front of me and I could buy a 1st gen camaro to fix up, but I kinda doubt that will happen.
Anyway, you all have been here and done this, so your advice and thoughts are much appreciated! Thanks.
