So I picked up a Garrett GT3788VA turbo (out of a Ford f350 super duty) for practically free. The owner bought it and never did anything with it for some years and had to get rid of it to make space. It's in nearly perfect condition and all I can think to do with this beast is the throw it in a small car and make a super sleeper. However, I have a few questions:
1.) can diesel turbos be swapped into non-diesel engines without major modifications? (other than the normal custom piping)
2.) I realize the lag would be UNREAL but could a 2.5L 4 cylinder for example even be able to get it to spoil?
3.) would I need an abnormal cooling method for this massive snail in my engine?
That's all I have for now. I'm planning on either putting it in a Mazda 3 or subaru wrx or sti. Any input would be very helpful. Thanks!
