Have to tease u/tankker a bit because I miss the Elise that a friend would share with me for sharing tire costs.
Been looking for almost 10+ years for a clean 57 DeVille, wanted Dusty Rose and wanted something that was as close to stock as I could find. I did not want any rust or really to have to do anything but track down the little things. I have a thing for the smaller tail-fin cars from the 50's before they went nuts in size. I settled on Red for my 55 TBird because pink was not a option.
Got to love dusty rose. 25K miles with not a single bit of rust. Must have 25K in chrome on the car. BIg 365 motor, only needed a good cleaning, rebuilding the carb from the varnish and freeing up the distributor weights which had a bit of rust from sitting. Slightly bent valve as well which was a easy fix. Need to rebuild the generator bearings in about another 1K miles. Gets a solid 15-17mpg on the freeway, gets 7mpg in the city. Which is better then my F350.
I give you Evelyn.

Seriously big, like I have to use the panoramic option on my Iphone to get it all in one shot.
All three tons of her in the sun.

Nothing like a almost 6.0 litter motor that gets you from 0-60 in about 18 seconds. I know the power steering bracket and pump is from a later car. Been doing my best to find a original.
